ACCESSIBILITY

The Advocacy League is committed to ensuring that our digital presence is accessible to everyone — including people with disabilities. We believe that civic participation and people power must be available to all, and that starts with accessible tools.
OUR COMMITMENT
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor disabilities.
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are actively working to identify and resolve any barriers on our website.
CURRENT STATUS
This website is built with accessibility in mind. We have made the following efforts:
— Semantic HTML structure throughout to support screen readers — Color contrast ratios designed to meet WCAG AA minimums — Alt text for meaningful images (decorative images are marked aria-hidden) — Keyboard navigability on key interactive elements including navigation, accordions, and buttons — Font sizes designed to scale with browser text size preferences — Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
A full WCAG 2.1 AA audit is in progress. This statement will be updated as findings are addressed.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
We are aware of the following areas under review:
— Some interactive elements (dropdowns, accordions) are being audited for full keyboard and screen reader support — Video content does not yet have captions — captions will be added before launch — Some color combinations in brand-specific sections are being evaluated for contrast compliance — Focus indicators on custom interactive elements are being reviewed and enhanced
We are actively working to resolve these issues.
ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
We test our website with the following assistive technologies:
— VoiceOver on macOS and iOS — NVDA on Windows — Keyboard-only navigation (no mouse)
We welcome reports if you experience issues with any assistive technology not listed above.
