The bipartisan 21st Century Road to Housing Act — which limits big investors from buying up single-family homes and eases building rules to add supply — passed the House 358–32 and the Senate 85–5. On June 24, 2026, President Trump canceled the signing, demanding Congress first pass the voter-suppression SAVE Act. Because the bill passed with veto-proof majorities, it can still become law.
