SAVE THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Only Congress can close it — so Congress must refuse.
Coming Soon★ WHAT'S HAPPENING
THE SITUATION
EO 14242 (March 2025) directed the Department of Education’s closure; the workforce was cut ~50% and functions are being moved to other agencies. An executive order cannot abolish the Department — only Congress can.
★ WHY IT MATTERS
Roughly 7.5M students with disabilities, students facing discrimination, and 43M loan borrowers depend on the Department’s protections.
★ WHAT WE'RE DEMANDING
Congress must refuse any abolition statute or transfer ratification and use appropriations to block the cuts.
