STOP THE RESEGREGATION OF SCHOOLS

Decades-old desegregation orders are being quietly dismissed.

Coming Soon

★ WHAT'S HAPPENING

THE SITUATION

Beginning in 2025, the DOJ joined officials in asking courts to dismiss decades-old desegregation orders (including DeSoto Parish, LA, formally ended in early 2026). More than 80 districts remain under such orders. EO 14280 (April 23, 2025) also rolls back disparate-impact school-discipline guidance.

★ WHY IT MATTERS

These orders exist because districts were found unlawfully segregated; ending them without proof of compliance risks accelerating resegregation. Research consistently links integration to better long-term outcomes for students of color.

★ WHAT WE'RE DEMANDING

Stop dismissing active desegregation orders; keep them until districts prove full compliance.
