SAVE AFFORDABLE STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT
Millions in the most affordable repayment plan ever are being forced out.
Coming Soon★ WHAT'S HAPPENING
THE SITUATION
After the Eighth Circuit affirmed an injunction against the SAVE plan (Feb 18, 2025), the Department of Education is moving borrowers off it starting July 2026 — 90 days to pick a new plan or be defaulted to Standard. The 2025 reconciliation law phases SAVE out and creates a new Repayment Assistance Plan.
★ WHY IT MATTERS
Roughly 8 million borrowers enrolled in SAVE; many now face significantly higher monthly payments. For working families, that is the difference between making rent and falling behind.
★ WHAT WE'RE DEMANDING
Protect affordable income-driven repayment and honor the loan forgiveness borrowers earned.
